Installations
Sometimes folks have gone online, or called a different company, and ended up having an awning shipped to them only to find out that installation is not included. If this happens to you, we can help. We can install awnings made by other companies, and repair them later when needed. If you get a price from us, rest assured that price does include installation unless you specifically asked for us not to.
Inspection / Maintenance
We do offer a service where we can come out and inspect your awning. This way we can try to catch any small problems and fix them before they can grow. This also gives us a chance to make small adjustments where needed and lubricate the high wear areas.
Fabric Resew & Reverse
If you have purchased a retractable awning from us then it was made with a little extra fabric. This way at around half the fabric’s lifespan we can take the fabric off, turn it around, and cut a new valance from the extra material. This puts the new clean fabric out where you can see it all the time, and puts the dirty fabric on the roll tube out of sight. This option costs a lot less than a replacement fabric.
Please note that there is a point where we can no longer reverse the awning. If the integrity of the fabric is such that I would need to cut the fabric short enough to no longer allow for full extension of the awning, then resewing and reversing is no longer an option.
Fabric Replacement
Whether your awning is a retractable or a stationary, as long as the frame is still in good condition, then we can replace the fabric for you. Since we custom sew all of the fabrics here locally, you can rest assured that your new fabric will fit great and get your awning back to looking like new.
Removal & Reinstallation For Reroofing
If your awning is roof mounted then eventually the time will come where you need to have your roof replaced. We do provide a service where we can schedule with you to take your awning down, and then return after the reroof is complete and reinstall the awning. This insures that nothing on the awning is damaged, and that it is remounted and adjusted correctly.
Major Repairs
Mother nature is not always nice, if you forget your awning out in a storm. I have rebuilt awnings after trees fell on them, unburied them from under piles of snow and ice, and even repaired them after they were left out in a hurricane. Since we build them here, I can repair and replace parts rather than just telling you that you have no option but to purchase a new one.
Why Not Cleaning?
You may be asking yourself why we don’t have cleaning listed. The truth is that I can clean your awning, but I usually tell people that its not the most cost effective solution. Cleaning the awning should be done regularly. A good cleaning usually takes two or three hours, and then we have to visit a second time after the awning dries to reapply the waterproofing. If we charge by the hour for the labor, and for the materials, then that adds up. Plus, even with that, there is no guarantee that it will remove all of the staining.
If you are not able to clean your awning yourself, then I usually recommend finding someone that cleans the exterior of houses. Just have them be careful that they don’t damage the awning with high powered pressure washers.
What most customers seem to end up doing is just waiting until their awning is about 6-7 years old. Then when the first foot of the awning and the valance are dirty, before any deterioration occurs, they call and have me just turn the awning around. This seems to be the most cost effective overall solution, short of regular cleaning by the customers themselves.
