At Swiss Tech Awnings, we pride ourselves on not letting materials go to waste and on helping worthy causes. In addition to donating our fabric remnants and scraps to various groups, earlier this year we donated materials to something different.

The Hoke County Public Library hosted a “marble run” event as a part of their larger STEM and outreach efforts. Participants were encouraged to use various materials provided to them to make a track to launch and race marbles.

“What was Swiss Tech Awnings’ part in this?”, you might be asking yourself. Well you’d be surprised how many things an awning company has that are perfect for this kind of thing. From 60″ cardboard tubes to empty industrial thread spools, a lot of materials pass through our hands that seem perfect for such an event. So when a member of the HCPL staff approached us, to ask if there were any materials we could donate, we were only too happy to oblige.
